Socius’s website is about to “go live,” but in the restaurant industry we use the term “soft open” to describe the anticipated opening of the Federal Taphouse in Harrisburg, PA, this coming weekend. This is an unannounced or lightly announced business opening, often just prior to an official grand opening. Originally slated to open in September on the site of the former Dragonfly nightclub in Restaurant Row, a series of added improvements has pushed the official opening of the restaurant back until now. I asked Jon for some insider information about what was going on during this time, and he opined that although the restaurant was sufficiently ready in September, Taphouse owner Judd Goodman wanted to push for something a little more extraordinary- and since we specialize in extraordinary, that is exactly what he got.
Now, with the last of the trim up and the details finally in place, we believe this venue will surpass any expectations for the highly anticipated restaurant space, which will feature wood-fired pizzas and over 100 craft beers on tap. We anticipate an announcement of the official grand opening within three weeks.
