Transform Your Backyard with a Concrete Patio

With the warmer weather upon us, it’s time to start thinking about how you could transform your backyard into the space you have always wanted. A stamped concrete patio, outdoor kitchen, or concrete firepit could be a great addition that helps to expand the living space of your home.

In its liquid state, concrete will take on the shape of any mold or form as it cures and hardens into its solid state. Surprisingly, concrete is also the most affordable decorative paving option available. We use a 4000 psi mix reinforced with integrated microfibers as well as half-inch rebar and pour it over a compacted stone subgrade to ensure that it stands the test of time. From here, the creative possibilities are endless. Adding color, staining, stamping, polishing, or simply custom formwork turns this old-world material into a modern beautiful paving option.

The Stamp Process:
Outside of design there are three main decisions every stamp customer must make: pattern, primary color, and accent color. The concrete will arrive on site with the primary color already integrated into the mix. We place the concrete in its liquid state and wait for it to slightly harden. When the concrete is strong enough to hold our weight we trowel it smooth and throw the accent color across the t
op to act as a release agent for the rubber stamps. Then we imprint the patio with the rubber stamps, which lock together to create the pattern of choice. The following day we return to wash off some of the release/accent color, cut the patio to help control cracking, and seal it with a decorative sealer.

We use Davis Colors pigments for our primary color options because of their rich, long-lasting color and we use Kingdom Release Colors for our accent colors. Our color concrete is protected with Kingdom Cure and Seal. Understanding the coloring process of concrete is very important when choosing the right colors for your project. Picking a color for concrete is nothing like picking a paint color for your wall. There are many variables that can affect the outcome of your final color; from temperature and sunlight to the origin of the cement and sand. We have over 10 years of experience working

We use Brickform Rubber Stamps for a quality stamp impression. Brickform is the leading name in decorative concrete. There are five main patterns that we offer: ashlar large cut slate, ashlar cut slate, random stone, london cobble, and seamless stone texture. If there is another pattern that you desire, let us know and we will find it for you.

Custom Border or Edging:1
Dress up your new patio or walkway with custom border or edging. Brick, cobblestone, slate, a custom stamp, or a sponge finished 2border can help frame the pattern and make the project pop. Mixing complimentary stone patterns or even switching colors with patterns are just some of the options.
